I said the complete opposite. Later I also noted how the George Jr administration is now trying to institute mandatory identification papers. All this because we don't have a system where 1) we can identify ourselves, and 2) we can protect our identity.

Without a program where we are in charge of our own identity, therefore, government will impose their identify program on us - including mandatory participation.

Meanwhile, Clodfobble's story would be very disturbing to me. I would not stop until I knew who (how) the address change occurred. I don't like it when 'I' am not in charge of my identity.

I suspect that the answer is simple. Have you never noticed that some mail from banks and such carry a little notice in the return address? I forget the exact text, but it basically tells the usps that they do not want their mail forwarded. Instead they want to be notified where you moved.

They probably sent you something, had it bounce and found out your new address. On the other hand, the usps has a whole raft of ways to keep one's mailing list up-to-date. I would be more surprised if they didn't know you moved.
