May 4th, 2015: Chan-Chan, Peru.

Chan Chan was in one of the worlds very dry spots so adobe was king.

Chan Chan, Peru, was the largest Pre-Columbian city in South America and the largest earthen architecture city in the world. It was the capital of the Chimú civilization, that stretched along the northern coast for a thousand kilometers from just south of Ecuador down to central Peru. The city itself was built around 850 CE and lasted until its conquest by the Inca Empire in 1470.

As the climate changes and rain increases, Chan Chan is starting to dissolve. Mother Natures urban renewal at work.

Chan Chan had gold too.

The little off kilter crowd feel these are model alien aircraft. But considering all the Chimú jewelry and icons were
modeled on birds and insects, flight of copies after some... uh, massaging, seems logical.
