my newest song

( see post in main section "need advice really really bad" if you want to see my inspiration...)

you acted your way into my heart
but you loved someone else at the very start
you talked your way into my dreams
but my trust is gone, all of me, it seems

you wished it was her, held me close in our bed
dreamed of success while she danced in your head.
"everything" for her, but you said "i love you",
not only to her, i was hearing it too.

you didn't love me then, but you love me now,
i'd like to be equal with you somehow,
i loved you so much, but now mine is gone,
i feel it's too late, your kisses feel wrong

now you really love me, so what? i don't care
we shouldn't have married, f**k your excuse of "last year"

"last year" you said you loved me
"last year" you held me close
"last year" i was your girlfriend
"last year" she was getting love notes

you wished it was her in our bed
you wished it was her loving you
now my feelings are dead
f**k you.

(okay, i know it's not radio quality...may need some editing, and it needs a few verses about them meeting for drinks...)

You know, that's not half bad.

Keep the lyrics and the anger for the song, even if you reconcile with him.

I am willing, without having consulted the band lawyer, to arrange musical intenseness around your not-bad verse - maybe fo' free.
I can do metal, pop, country, whatever my chicken pickn, bony ass hands will come up with. I'm on a Testament-y, Dream Theater -y kick right now. Your strong lyrics need big minor chord progressions and a drummer. Maybe a 3 minute solo with time signature changes midway through.

yah. so anyway, look us up @ gasheadmusic.com. that stuffs kinda metally, and the 2 1/2 cd's we got on the boards right now are harder. However we do a blues/jazz version of a megadeth medly that will make you weep with its purity.

Nah, we just hacks. But you want to correspond w/us just go to the site. This is GasHead. You have no idea how much you're going to like us

thanks, mrnoodle, i was thinking of something heavy, courtney love inspired...i haven't come up with a melody, though. sometimes i just write lyrics and never get around to putting them to music. i'll check out your site.

Dream Theater ROCKS!!! Their rendition of "Funeral for a Friend" is nearly better than the original. My husband has been a fan of them for years, and is introducing them to me slowly.

Funeral for a Friend is the Dream Theater song for people who don't "get" Dream Theater - it's the gateway drug. Your husband is cool.

OK, I downloaded your mp3 Stacey, and kind of liked it. Do you have anything else recorded?

yes, i do have other songs recorded. i have included two of them on my cellar music exchange cd. they are instrumentals. i have a few songs recorded that i sing on, but i don't really like them enough to share them...one of these days i'll get back into recording, but it's such a pain right now with the stupid software we have that's incompatible with this cheap computer...
