Weekend at the Lake

I love early Spring visits to the inlaws' place. Here's sunset last night at Pomme de Terre in Hickory County, Missouri.

Your beautiful lakeside retreat is in a town called "Potato?"

The lake is named "Pomme de Terre" after the Pomme de Terre River, which was in turned named by some frog French fur trappers way back when. Towns in the immediate vicinity have more pedestrian names, such as Pittsburg, Hermitage and Wheatland, but there is also a Weaubleaux Creek and town named Weaubleaux not much further down the road, so those wily French came and messed things up for everyone.
