I just gotta have one of them...!
Every so often something comes along that catches your attention to the extent that you feel that it's just one of those things you've just gotta have -but trouble can be that the timing isn't quite right - a lot of the time for financial reasons, but not always - there can be other obstacles preventing acquisition (I can think of one in respect of what I've just seen).
I doubt this will be a big thread, but just had to get this one off my chest How absolutely and indisputably eccentricly English - I just gotta have one! Definitely check out the video of the trip through France and the various owners pictures including the one for sale - yummy, yummy, yummy - and even based on an old Citroen 2CV - mon dieu, what more could there be to make it even more fetching...!! Anyone wanna guess why it won't happen...?

The Mrs.? I have always wanted one of these - a car just like me - sleek, classy, and unreliable as hell! Maybe someday!

SWMBO - reminds me of Minder and those wonderful Arthur Daley sayings like 'the world is your lobster' - classic and timeless!

I've had two 'deux chevaux' in my time - during the old redundancy periods - bought the first to make one of these, (turning the rear wheels and suspension through 180 degrees gets you the rear alignment shown in the picture - simple but effective), but sadly didn't complete the project - suppose that's why the Pembletoon appeals....
The 2CVs were good, cheap and reliable transport - bought each one for £300 (actually sold the second one on for £350!) Leaving aside the rather scant construction technique, mechanically they were both formidable. Air-cooled engines that worked and worked without fuss. Very flexible as well - I mean in terms of the jobs they could perform, although that might just as well apply to the body cage! Driving one induces an uncanny senasation of Frenchness - you could easily find yourself singing in the style of Maurice Chevalier ('Zank 'eaven, for leetle girls...' and such), almost took up smoking Gauloise as well (God forbid!), but just managed to keep that traditional side-effect francais at bay! - and also notably this one: ![]()

That's far from a CV-2.
It has things like.....seats, and I suppose a pneumo-hydraulic suspension. ![]()
