The Cycle Continues...
19-Year-Old Confesses in Killing of Editor
You have to read the whole thing... the cycle of violence, hate and depravity that this person was raised in is wrong, but he was also raised in the middle of one of the most enlightened cities in the US. I am not going to tell you how many, but I have a lot of family who are true... well let's just say I have sat next to people wearing white power t-shirts with swastikas at christmas... And we were raised in the middle of nowhere, and CHOSE differently. One has a mind of one's own and knows, "would I want to be treated this way?" The answer it no... it is genetic morality, against the tribe/troop to act like this and they were shunned. 19. He knows what he is doing, he knew EXACTLY what he did and EXACTLY how wrong it was and WHY. The minute amount of melanin in one's skin due to their ancestor's hanging out near or far from the equator or their imaginary teddy-bear is meaningless, nothing separates us but this kind of stupidity. Once you are an adult, how you were raised is NEVER an excuse for not knowing the value of human life and/or their right to live in peace, unless you are legally insane, then you should never be in society because you can never be trusted. |

Thats where the single bullet theory comes in, and I advocate it's use.

I am strongly against the death penalty. Again, breaking the cycle of violence.
I will not become what they are to get "vengeance" instead of justice. |

I know, but my frustration at this kind of stuff and then society housing, feeding, educating...... at our expense doesn't seem like a fit punishment either. There is no rehabilitation here - what are we to do?

You do what is right.
As for premeditated murder and the criminally insane, you house them, learn from them, don't torture them, but don't make them "comfortable". I have no problem with working them without the facility and it's upkeep, but never anything that takes jobs away from citizens. Never allow them contact with the outside world other than family, no press, no books, no sales of art or stories of any kind, no money, no citizenship. Just life in prison until they die. I do not think they should be made physically uncomfortable or unhealthy in any way, their should be heat and air conditioning and decent healthy food, occasional exercise, things like that. But, limited contact with others, other than other criminals, and then only other murderers. No education, there is no need, limited television and reading are ok, I see no issue with it, no telephone, no mail. |

She told me her son and ex walked into a Wal-Mart and simply walked out with a large flat screen TV. Literally just walked out and put it in their car. She asked why. Well, the overt act was described as adrenalin high. When they stole, it was a thrill unlike anything else. Research indicates this may be true among a minority of our population. Doing things anti-social to some may be rather normal. Again, I don't see anything racist in their actions. But I do see something similar and anti-social in how they justify their acts. Obviously their actions are not based in logic. IOW which of two parts in the brain is in control? Logic or emotion? One characteristic of the anti-social: they often entertain emotions; their biases. Little based in logic explains such actions. Denial that they did something wrong or an insistence that they are defending something silly like honor; these emotional concepts somehow override a logical grasp. Should these guys be terminated? Well, many forget why the death penalty is such a powerful tool. Many criminals simply rat out their peers just to avoid death. We have no idea what law enforcement did to break the case. But decrees like an automatic death penalty are a fool's road to paradise with 24 virgins waiting at the gate. There is no paradise and there is no universal solution. Far more relevant and informative are questions such as why. These are our people. Making automatic decrees about our people without knowing details - and the article was chock full of missing details - is simply another access ramp to that fool's road. |
