Today's Dose of Crazy

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20999747/

Quote:
MAPUTO, Mozambique - The head of the Catholic church in Mozambique said on Wednesday he believed some European-made condoms were deliberately tainted with the HIV/AIDS virus to kill African people.
Please read it all. It's beautiful. Religion enriches our lives in so many ways, I know this did mine, I have not laughed so hard in ages.

Of course that is until the horror of the magnitude of the crime of it sank in... then I wanted to weep for all those who have suffered at the hands of these morons.
All those who have been told not to use contraception while they can't feed the kids they have by these kinds of criminals... this is just a new low.

*dies from shock*

No amount of "what the book says"..."our beliefs", etc can justify the Pope going to the slums of Ireland or anywhere and saying that they should not use contraceptives, or morons like this using fear just to further their superstitions.

Why someone like this would not be defrocked the next day baffles me.
Why people would not leave the Catholic Church the very day the Pope tells people in poor nations and areas where they have trouble feeding the kids they have and sexually transmitted disease is on the rise every day not to use contraceptives is criminal.
They are supporting these actions by supporting the church.

where there never was a pod before.

You can't defend this on your own?

Like I said, the Pope going into an area where people have too many kids to feed as it is and disease is rampant and to tell those who are so primitive to think that he is actually speaking for god that using contraceptives will send them to hell is criminal.
At least we know where the church stands and it is not on the side of kindness and for the health and welfare of it's constituents, ever.
I don't care what the Catholic church wants, only what it does and knows is wrong.

Condoms save lives, they tell people not to use them INTENTIONALLY knowing that it will cause death and suffering... CHOICE and WRONG.
There is no excuse for this behavior and the Pope is fully responsible every time he does it and every time he endorses the behavior in others for every death it results in.

It is a power game and nothing more. They want more little catholics to fill their coffers, that is all. If they may be dieseased or poor does not matter to them because they know they will get paid before they try and buy food.

Read something interesting and now fully support the church, I hope the promote his ass.

We can look at this as a good thing, from an anti-catholic-church POV.

If the leadership of the C.C. does not condemn,/remove/ defrock, etc., this man, they will lose much credibility, and cause many people to reject the church's doctrines.

Like if the us army had tacitly defended the abu ghraib offenders by refusing to punish/admit wrongdoing.

I think the best thing for third-world peoples to do would be to reject catholicism entirely.
Idiots who spread misinformation like this guy does will be seen for the liars they are.

If the church supports him by remaining silent, they will be guilty of complicity, and wil be seen as liars, too.

Good....one more nail in its coffin, so to speak.

I wonder if head of the Catholic church in Mozambique had a stake in a local condom making company.
