John Entwistle -- RIP

The marquee at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino memorializes Who bassist John Entwistle June 27, 2002. Entwistle died in his hotel room at the Las Vegas resort on Thursday at age 57, just one day before the British rock group was set to begin a North American tour in a small club at the hotel, the Clark County Coroner said. A damned shame...the Who are already rock gods, and they seemed to be enjoying a boost in their popularity recently.

I hope this isn't the end of them.

Whenever you quote something, I highly recommend that you preface the quoted text with something like "<i>from Reuters</i>:". That way, people won't be confused and think that you wrote something you didn't.

It's not really very clear if you just put "REUTERS/Ethan Miller" at the end of the text, because people don't realize that it wasn't you talking until they get to the end of the paragraph.

Just curious, but does that really matter? If you're interested enough in what it says, then you'll read the entire paragraph. If it had listed Reuters as the news source from the start, would you have not read it?

I think juju's point is important especially if the "quoted" material includes opinion or editoral, and I do try to preface such remarks with a reference, for the good reasons he stated.

But it's probably not necessary in every case, such as this post, which is a caption to a pic and the credit is given at the end as is standard in the media itself.

And it wasn't one of those posts that you have to scroll to get to the bottom.

Anyway, juju, point taken.
