hairdos

What is it with women over 40 and their dumb, short hair dos? I probably shouldn't critizice people's hair, since i'm a guy with long hair. But some of the stuff they come up with just doesn't look good to me.

How about the clothes on these women? I was at a dress-up event recently and looking at one of the speakers, all I thought was "Where's the bullfight?"

Those haircuts arent nearly as annoying at 12yr old girls in t-shirts that say "Naughty" or "Hot" or stupid stuff like that. Cause at least 40+yr old women dont have their heads shoved up their asses.

I think the soccer mom mentality best explains the stewpid haircuts

It's just that those women might look pretty hot if they just did their hair differently.

I don't know, I'm actually a fan of short hair on women, at least ones my age... I'll get back to you on the over forty women though. Personally, I can't say dick about anyone's hair as I am rockin dreds. You should see the looks I get. The funny part is they are more disturbed by my hair than I am by thier reaction to it, so I win...

Ever notice how many (if not most) older women in the US have short hair?

I state my theory as follows: As many women become mothers, and are juggling children, after-school activities, a career, etc., dealing with the care of longer hair is more than they care to deal with. Therefore, they cut their hair...making it more manageable, and taking less time to care for. They adapt to it, and it remains this way for the remainder of their lives.

Again, just a theory.

Now, there are some older women with short hair that are rather hot. It just depends on personal preference.

Short hari on chicks rock! Depends on the face though, need pretty defined bone strcutre to pull it off well, couple of frends have hair as short as mine almost (1-2.5 inches or so) and it looks fantastic. Dreads are cool, a chick fried of mine with longish read hair did keeps it in dreads, looks fantastic.

As a rule, I hate short hair on women, but there are some who can pull it off:

I agree on the having children, etc. => leads to short hair theory. FWIW, though, my wife has long hair (beyond shoulder-length), and she doesn't do much to take care of it.

Gotta agree with sludgie on this one: I'm not a real fan of short hair on females. However... when Jenni and I got together, her hair was short. And it's short again. I get used to it. And while I like long hair and don't like short hair... I'm not with her 'cause of her hair, either.

I gotta cast my vote with the traditionalists.

I prefer short hair on men and long hair on women.

I've only met one person who looked good in dreadlocks. Find a photo of Ms LA Leather 2000,
Alisa Swindell to see what I mean. Otherwise, they just look unkempt. That hairstyle is a lot of work to keep
right. Many just use it as an excuse to not wash the hair at all.

Long hair on women is sexy to me, as is running a brush through it. And many women find the gentle tugging
at their scalp to be erotic as well. Like a hair massage or something. My wife had hair down to the small of her
back (she claimed any longer and she'd pull her own hair whenever she sat down) and we both liked the
nightly grooming session.

Red dreds are my favorite, mine get reddish as the summer progresses but its not the same. The funny thing is my hair is now longer (about 12 inches) than most of my girl friends. Even the girl I'm kind of with is dredding her hair up so its going to be shorter than mine in a couple of months. Most of the girls I know though have short short hair, easier to dye as well as wash.

I'd say part of it depends on hair type too. If you have straight hair like Milla there, then it's not nearly as hard to care for.

I prefer long hair on females. Although Rho's hair is not exactly long...she has this half-perm/half-afro thing going.

My hair's about 3 feet long. And I am starting to pull dat shit out when I sit down. If I spend any amount of time in a chair, invariably there are hairs stuck to the back of it. Arrrrrrr.

I happen to put the work into mine and they look good. I will agree that the majority though is just out to not wash their hair. I really didn't have much of a choice as far as hairstyle goes: afro, dreads, or buzz, so the dreads ended up being the best looking choice of the bunch.

Oh Brother! I must go to bat for my sisters. Hey, I'm staring down 40, watching the changes. For some reason the norm is to dye your grey away and cut it short and sensible... then it just fades to a whispy blue. What alarms me is the adverse effect of repeated chemical dyes seeping into your vulnerable scalp- like every few weeks- Let it go wild and grey.
As a woman that owns one semi-posh frock for weddings, funerals, really bad Christmas parties....There's some tough socialization and judgement going on there- Fashion's big thumb crushing down. time to get over it, eh? I'll forgive you young fellas (in advance) your thinning locks, beer bellies and those funky underpants...you know the ones!
