Cellar downtime scheduled

The server running the Cellar has to be moved. This move is scheduled to happen Wednesday night (US Eastern time), sometime after 11 pm.

One hopes the system boots normally after it is moved, but in rare instances the server may not boot or the people moving it may not put it back on the network correctly, etc. If anything goes wrong in the move it will be taken care of the following morning.

You delivered that information with all the matter of fact care one might employ in explaining why a comfort blanket is whooshing round a washing machine.

It's lucky I have to spend some time at the hospital on thursday. I don't know what I'd do without the cellar to keep me occupied lately.

Are there going to be many/any changes from a posters point of view UT?

Wow. I knew the feds were going to show up one day.

If the Cellar ever entered witness protection, would they change the name to smeller.org?

I wouldn't make any changes over a server downtime period!

I don't know what switching servers means. I'm a techno doofus. Just wanted to ask.

Either 15 minutes, or one night and into the morning. I'm betting on 15 minutes, but there are no guarantees. Two servers have to successfully shut down, move, boot and recognize the new network. A lot of shit can happen.
