IPod!

Ah finally! My shiny new 20G apple ipod has arrived. Within a few minutes it had been converted to a winpod (thanks to a copy of the windows ipod software procured earlier) and set up with ephpod - which is a truly fantastic piece of software.

Few question of Dham and anyone else here who has one.
a: Is it me or is the firewire cable a bitch to get out?
b: I've noticed if I leave it charging near the monitor (I’m not sure if the monitor is related) the screen suffers some of that rainbow type discoloration for a while afterwards, my guess is its the effect of the harddrive motor - anyone confirm this?
c: Is it not The most incredible piece of consumer electronics in a long time? The sound quality with apple earbuds whips the crud out of Sony MDs, having 20 GIG to play with is incredible not to mention extra stuff though ephpod like news and contacts is ridiculously useful.
d: How do you carry it? With my blazer (just like a suit jacket) i find i put it on the inner right pocket with the remote on the edge of the pocket and the earbud cord going into my shirt and up behind my neck. For school I kind of need to minimise visible cordage. With the remote as well anyone find the collative cord length a little excessive?
e: anything I should know?

You may think it's a good idea to test the durability of your iPod by slamming it into concrete as hard as possible. It is not.
