After my disastrous first introduction to David Gilmour with Dream Academy, I met him again when Bryan [Ferry] shot the video for 'Is Your Love Strong Enough', which both David and I were to appear in. I found myself stuck in the dressing room with him, quietly noodling on a handsome white Stratocaster. "That's a nice looking Strat, David", I ventured. "Is it very old?"

"There aren't any older than this," he deadpanned, flipping it over to reveal the 0001 serial number.
