I really like the depth of field usage in #1, #6 would have gotten my vote if it was just a bit more in focus.

Crayons just had the best combination of color and macro. Well done.

Yeah, I voted for the crayons because they are very colorful and the composition is pretty good. I almost didn't enter the macro contest because I knew I couldn't beat the crayons, but I thought my needle in a record groove was pretty cool too, and it captures the essence of a bygone era. Getting that shot was a bear.

It was a tough choice, as they all are, but something about the needle pic fascinated me.

Hmmm, I didnt know that was a picture of a needle. I still cant tell what it is...it looks a little bent up and rusty to me.

That's why I liked it. It makes you look at something you've seen all your life (if you're, ahem, of a certain age) and look at it in a different way. Art.

The "rust" is a reflection of the yellow/orange plastic Audio Technica stylus housing.

I lost the perspective on that - now that you explained it, it is a very good shot.

I thought jinx would win this one. Her shot has real depth, crystal clarity on the focus object, and a cool back story.
