What to do with Eagles playoff tickets
A friend of mine has 200-level seats for the Eagles' upcoming playoff games. He's taken a look at what tickets are going for on eBay, and has been tempted by the ludicrous amounts involved. In particular, he reasoned that if bids are getting this high for the Atlanta game, bids for the NFC Championship game (the last Eagles game ever at the Vet, at that) would be through the roof if they make it that far.
Selling timely items like this on eBay carries a number of issues, however (the logistics of selling on eBay in general, the commission to be paid, dealing with PA's scalping laws, getting the tickets to the winning bidder in a timely fashion, hoping you don't end up with a deadbeat/joke buyer). I'm trying to think of alternatives to eBay, and posting to alt.sports.football.pro.phila-eagles on Usenet was the best I could come up with. Anyone else have recommendations? |

Why on Earth would he want to sell them? Money is nice and all, but that's going to be a great game tomorrow, no matter who wins.

(Me, I wouldn't go if you paid me the cash AND gave me the tickets. I've been to one Eagles game in my life, and the experience was scary as hell -- and the 700-level crazies and I were ROOTING FOR THE SAME TEAM. If someone had visibly rooted for the visitors, they'd have been drawn and quartered by halftime. I was down in the 500's and still spent half the game ducking, waiting for thrown objects to accidentally clock me, ala Begbie in "Trainspotting.") |
