Mix tapes (CDs) What's your feeling?

Just out of curiousity, I'm wondering where some of you stand on this issue.

You gotta write up some liner notes though. A friend gives out mix CDs at each birthday party for his kids. It's the favorite music of the moment. But no effort is made to label them, so a year or two later all you see is the kid's name and the year on the silver disc, and you have no idea what's on the CD. Plus if you knew the artist of an unfamiliar song, you might look them up. Like in the CMEP.

"On the grounds that it supports musical piracy?"

On those grounds, I couldn't give a shit.

On the grounds that I find it easier to just burn a particular playlist, rather than try to program it into an mp3 player and then search the player for that list when I want it... I'm greatly in favor of them.

I consider them a necessity for long distance driving when you're out of radio range.

Suppose you defined CD as a portable hard drive with 63,000 songs on it?

lol

I love my half terrabyte external drive.

What if you define CD as an I-phone/pod ?

I'd say roughly two-thirds of what sits on my iphone is legal in the strictest terms.

Mix CDs? They don't have to be pirated, that's a separate issue. Love 'em. Kiss me now.

Don't get it.
I have a friend that made me a couple, as did my bro.
Do people still listen to CDs now?

I mean I do. But I am the Cherry that Time Left Behind.

We listen to CDs all the time.

Although I think most people are moving away from them. A couple years ago I looked for a decent quality boom box and couldn't find any. Everything out there is a docking station for an mp3 player now.

I'm digging google play music. So far I've uploaded a slice (458 songs)of my collection, and now it's synced on my phone. I get in the car, plug in the aux cable, choose a playlist, and rock out. but not with my cock out.. cuz I'm in my car, and that's gross.

It's kind of like spotify, but it's free, and I can only use songs that I have already, or buy from them. Between that and Pandora, I'm good to go.
