Wonderfalls. New TV show.
I just saw it last week for the first time. I've seen one episode, so I can't really say I'm a die hard fan, but it looked pretty good. It's different. That appeals to me. Of course if I watch it a lot, it won't be different any more. I used to think Malcom In The Middle was different. Now that show is just some more trash in the regular line-up.
So did anyone catch Wonderfalls last week? What did you think? I hear they are moving it to Friday nights. So it may be that the one episode will be the only one that I see. Bastards. |

Well, you guys weren't the only ones not watching it. I just read in this morning's paper that it has been cancelled. Last week, it was dead last in the ratings.
Too bad, because it's a better show than 95% of the stuff on network TV now. Oh well. They seem to always cancel my favorite shows. OR maybe I just don't notice when they cancel the shows I don't watch. |

The stuff they cancel that you don't watch really sucks ass, but there are still people that miss those shows. It's part of the magic of television.
I've ridden several really good shows down ... sometimes it's not the fault of the writing or the acting ... bad scheduling on the part of a network can kill an otherwise good program. I still miss American Gothic. And Wonderland, but that show was killed by an advocacy group rather than just a ratings fiasco.

Wonderland was the mental hospital one, wasn't it? I saw a few episodes of that. It was good. But it also was too tense. I was always stressed out after watching it.
I never saw American Gothic, but heard good things about it. You have a thing for Michelle Forbes? She was in both, wasn't she? She's the main reason I started watching Wonderland. I was really bummed when they canceled Homicide. It was the best show on TV when they canceled it. Michelle Forbes had a bit part in that one. |

Who the hell is Michelle Forbes? (actresses barely register on my personal radar ... I had no idea that there was a cast crossover).
Wonderland is about the only show that has ever accurately portrayed what I do for a living. We loved it at work. All two episodes. I even gave a crisis worker at another hospital hell for calling me to refer a patient during the first episode. I made him wait until the commercial. I keep hoping that ABC will try to make some money off it by releasing the whole series on DVD, but I don't really expect it to happen. I also mourned the passing of Homicide. I thought it was a fantastic show and still catch the reruns in syndication.
