Gay rights gets an interesting ally

"Love is bigger than government," Ventura, taking a break from his studies as a fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, said at a State House news conference yesterday. "Government should not have the right to tell you who you fall in love with and who you want to spend your life with."

Ventura, a member of the Reform Party, may take his brand of politics on the presidential campaign trail. Asked if he harbored ambitions of becoming the nation's chief executive in 2008, Ventura said, "It's time to put a wrestler in the White House."

This is easily the strangest phrase I have read in some time ...

Not that I didn't enjoy his stint as a governor (not being a resident of his state), I have entirely too clear memories of Jessie in the sparkly purple mylar wig beating the faux shit out of too many people.

Although, he may be a reasonable alternative candidate, since the Rev. Al Sharpton is pretty much out of things at this point.

I think that his history combined with his current, apparent, studies puts him lightyears ahead of not-so-sharp-ton.

Look at what Sharpton cost the people down in Rosie Roads.

When I read that, I thought who's Ventura, can't be Jesse.

He's a former wrestler, not boxer, cut the guy some slack.

He'll be the only 3rd party candidate with any experience. Or has Nader actually held an office of some sort?
