8/28/2004: Mars forms



This one's tricky - it really looks like a macro shot of some sort, but it's really from orbit, from the Mars Global Surveyor a while back. And these are sand dunes, not snowy peaks.

The link shows some really bizarre shaped sand dunes. Holy cow, dunes that look like pacman!?!?
