Merry Yule to All

It is the longest night of the year. Tomorrow, we welcome the birth of the Sun King, and begin the long climb back to Summer. As the ancients celebrated, so have we; observing the enduring nature of the evergreen, hanging our homemade ornaments upon it, crowning it with a miniature representation of the Sun, and ringing the bell...ringing in the new, as it were.

Here's hoping that the end to this, the darkest of the seasons, will bring new light and life to you and yours. Be safe in your holiday travels, cherish your loved ones, and be of good cheer.

Blessed Yule to all my Cellar friends, Pagan or otherwise!

Joyous blessings to you as well, brother.

May we all welcome the light back into our lives.

That picture is exactly why stem cell research is so feared by Conservatives. Also, I find it offensive in that it is so all-inclusive and intentionally inoffensive, although careful scrutiny shows it to be American-centric and nonrepresentative of the considerable contributions of both women and minorities to the rich fabric of human cultural experience.

In summary, I am offended by both what it is and what it isn't.

What are you, nuts? Contributions of women? Just who do you think cooked the turkey? And minorities? Well...it is a golden brown.
