How the hell will we ever survive without the most humdrum reporter in television history? I wonder if retirement will force him to have an expression on his face.

Then you did not see Ted Koppel's eyes as Michael Brown blantantly evaded and lied on 1 September 2005. Brownie lied as George Jr would - except Brownie is not as good at it. Koppel calmly and professionally asked the same questions repeatedly of this - a classic example of George Jr spin. It was as good as any action flick, as Ted maintained his professional composure.

Same applies to his Town Meeting in South Africa where at any time, someone was about to be shotgunned. It too was not boring as Ted's demeanor, by his presence, maintained order. Maintained order right up to the last question asked by a 14 year old boy. BTW, that child's question completely deflated the tension. Did it matter what expression was on Ted's face? That last hour of the South African Town Meeting ranks as one of the most thrilling.
