CD/Vinyl Record Combo

-from Christopher Null at YahooNews-

I’d never heard of musician Jeff Mills before today. He describes himself as “techno/classical/experimental,” and that’s a perfect description of what he’s pulled off with his new release titled “The Occurrence.”

With this album, Mills has become the first-known person to meld the analog and the digital world — musically speaking, anyway — into a single product. One side of the album’s five-inch disc is a standard compact disc that plays in any CD player. Flip it over, though, and it’s a vinyl record that you can play on your turntable.

Same recording, just two different formats depending on whether you're feeling like exploring your wholesome wheat side or your frosted side.

The so-called “hybrid CD” is the first of its kind that I (or anyone else I can find) am aware of. I’m so impressed with the idea that I kind of want to buy the album just so I can have one, even though the music doesn’t really interest me and I don’t own a turntable.

That said, what I’m really holding out for is something even cooler: A combination SD card and 8-track tape. Let’s make it happen, folks!
Well, I don't got them, but I got these. Course mines just look like records. Had 'em almost ten years.
