I'm confused. So Ivory Coast was a French colony, but now it's a sovereign nation, but the northern part of the country are rebels who...? what? Don't want to be a sovereign nation? Or just don't like the current president? Can someone dumb this down for me or post a link that explains it?

Most of the World's supply of cocoa comes from Cote d' Ivoire.

It's the "oil" of this particular conflict.

Did anyone notice that the French engaged in unilateral military action without first consulting the UN? The nerve of them!

The French are leading the UN force in Ivory Coast. As I recall, it was the French who spearheaded an immediate rescue of something like 100+ Americans in Ivory Coast. Where was the US military when those American lives were at risk?

Apparently, Vice President Cheney never sat on the board of Hershey chocolates, or else we would have had our marines in there in no time to secure the ministry of cacao.

And don't forget all the fat DOD contracts Hershey would get to help re-build the Ivory Coast's chocolate industry!

OK, off topic a bit; blame the Hennepin, but I am reminded of Jarmusch's "night on earth" the scene in Paris where the Ivory coast taxi driver picks up the two guys from Cameroon who hassle him about his driving and then explain it to themselves as his being from the Ivory coast:
Côte d’Ivoire: Ivoirien! II voit rien! (he can’t see a thing!)

Chocolate?

Helleaux, It's what's for dinner.

WTF? Don't forget Bananas in S.A. 100 years of solitude. Those people were seriously killed. For friggin, 33 cents a pound bananas!

It boggles my Hennepin infringed mind that we can pretend to put men on the moon, we can not only rig an election, but actually make several people in the U.S. believe there was an election, but we still can't come to grips with the horrendous truth that people are willing to kill other people so that they can feel better.

Whether that "better" feeling is the result of power, money, sex or fame, (you've got your choice of seven chakras––taek your pick) nevertheless, it is always about getting your rocks off.

It doesn't matter if your rocks are PETA, Greenpeace, Halliburton, or Taliban. You know you want it.

What ever it takes to re–assert "your" "self".

Chocolate, Bananas, Oil, Sex, Power, same circuit, different wires.

OK someone get me the "Broad brush cleaner"
