is this the Beeb series? If so, excellent stuff - not to be missed.

I think it's a BBC/HBO collaboration. And the opening credits are on right now!

Solid episode. I've got high hopes for the season.

!SPOILER WARNING -- EP: Passover -- Highlight to read!

I think the writers are on shifting ground by setting Titus and Vorenus on what appears to be a Mafia story-line. Tricky storytelling, at least for American audiences that already associate HBO with Mafia through Sopranos.

I hope they pull it off well.

I was lucky enough to be home to watch it. I loved season one, am wondering where they can go with season 2 ... a darn awful lot of stuff happened in that first episode.

Octavian's ascention to emperor over Antony and Cleopatra?

Once it's over, it might be cool to watch Rome, then I, Claudius. But it would be hard to see Rome's Octavius turn into Brian Blessed...

The Octavian stuff is a given, I was more wondering about our less royal characters ... Verenus and Pullo. I've speculated my way through a couple of variations, and it's basically not good.

The good thing they've done is to fill out Pullo's character by showing his tender side and exposing him to politics and intellectualism. And they've shown that Vorenus doesn't deserve, or even fulfill, the lofty "golden child" position he holds in the series.

Good episode this week. We thought we'd seen the wrath of Vorenus before...I have a feeling that's nothing compared to what's coming.

Anyone know what's going on with the Jews? I'm not very familiar with Judaism before 1,200 AD.

Anyone else think the woman who plays Gaia (Zuleikha Robinson) is just incredibly gorgeous? She oozes sex. Amazing.
