Food Maps

I was happy to discover that several co-workers also have the love for road food and hole-in-the-wall, non-chain restaurants that I do. Mom-n-pop ice cream parlors, quiet coffee shops, greasy grills, and comfortable bars are often topics of discussion, but now it has become a bit of a game to map them out and discover new ones.

Thank you, Google maps!

Share your maps! And if you're ever in the Tampa area, you now know where the good stuff is...

On several occasions, while stumbling around Ybor City in a stupor, I heard stoners comment in passing about how they were craving Alaskan Tacos. They are pure crispy, fried goodness. Beef, chicken, shrimp, fish, and gator tacos. So delicious.

I'll grab a picture of the place next time I'm there.

...which might be tonight, because just thinking about the place has my mouth watering.

(closed on Sundays? Nooo...!)

A great one is Dyer's Hamburgers. They are using grease that is almost 100 years old. They have NEVER replaced their grease, only added to it (and filter it). Even when opening up a new place, they transport the grease instead of starting over. Yum Yum.
