Russian spy in Nato

“The longer they work on the case, the more obvious it becomes how big the impact of the suspected treachery really is,” according to Der Spiegel magazine. A German official described the Russian penetration of Nato as a "catastrophe".

Comparisons are being drawn with the case of Aldrich Ames, the former head of the CIA counter-intelligence department who was in effect Russia's top agent in the US.

Hell, if I were Russia, I'd want to get a spy into NATO too.

Does it really matter?
Honestly, Russia can't even control its own citizens or run itself effectively - why on earth would they go to war against NATO?

For the same reason that Russia is increasing its military budget 30% every year? For the same reason that it has a massive stockpile of nuclear weapons? Thanks to George Jr's new policies, Russia can terminate any treaty immediately when it is convenient to Russia. And where does most of the natural gas in mainland Europe now come from? Oh. Russia could never be a threat? That was George Jr's policy.

Wait a minute - any country can terminate any agreement or treaty at any time they want. All they need do is stop abiding by it. Happens all the time. Russia may also have been using increased military spending to sustain their weak economy.... sound familiar?

And when you do, expect others to do same at your expense.

So lets just withdrawal from Nafta, the anti-proliferation nuclear treaty, and the international agreement for international air carriers.

Fortunately, George Jr did not terminate nuclear arms treaties with Russia. So those treaties will be renegotiated on schedule in 2009 - without anyone taking revenge - maybe. After all, we unilaterally suspended the anti-ballistic missile treaty for no reason other than to deploy weapons against a threat that does not exist using a system that even American experts said cannot work.

And they only became less trustworthy when George Jr literally destroyed America's relations with every other nation including Canada and Mexico.

Some of the symptoms resulting from our 'high and mighty' wacko extremists: that crazy man in Venezuela and the rise of Ortega in Nicaragua who may be attempting to destroy democracy there.

American relations with Russia are but only another in a long list of accomplishments by George Jr – actually Cheney.
