RNC Power Point presentation.

RNC fundraising document: Use fear of Obama’s “socialist” agenda to raise dough

Play close attention to slide # 29,30 and 31

http://www.politico.com/static/PPM13...eadership.html

The Republican National Committee plans to raise money this election cycle through an aggressive campaign capitalizing on “fear” of President Barack Obama and a promise to "save the country from trending toward socialism."

The strategy was detailed in a confidential party fundraising presentation, obtained by POLITICO, which also outlines how “ego-driven” wealthy donors can be tapped with offers of access and “tchochkes.”

The presentation was delivered by RNC Finance Director Rob Bickhart to top donors and fundraisers at a party retreat in Boca Grande, Florida on February 18, a source at the gathering said.

In neat PowerPoint pages, it lifts the curtain on the often-cynical terms of political marketing, displaying an air of disdain for the party’s donors that is usually confined to the barroom conversations of political operatives.

It was an interesting find. One that isn't surprising though. Just because one party offers death scenarios doesn't make the the the D's offering up cake any less harmful.imo It in itself is deceiving.

Choose your poison.

cake (the government will be your mommy and make everything alright)

or death ( the bad guys are coming to get you. Be afraid. Be very afraid)

Cake or Death is a false dichotomy: it does not describe the full range of choices.

For there is always the live-lion's choice: Kill The Threat.

That's what's really driving both the smart Republicans (who are mostly my kind of folks) and the smart Democrats (who should just quit that Party and go to something that better matches their intellects and the nation's best interest anyway).

Some people prefer to be their lives' subjects, not their lives' objects. I make life happen not Everything happens to me.

Admit it: that really bothers the shit out of a whole lot of "progressives." Yeah, you're right, that's the employment of the same disdainful quotes as are wrapped around socialist. But Obama's apologists are pretty much MIA in trying to show -- explaining is cheap, and not always true -- that Obama's policy ideas aren't grounded in socialism: his background and life experiences hardly suggest any other paradigm but. The guy's never been enough of a businessman to grok capitalism. Indeed, since when was he ever part of anything but the administrative overhead? Not even as an investor, AFAIK.

Well, that doesn't work out really well if the 'threat' is:

Synagogue
Federal Building
Co-workers
Congressman's office
Abortion Doctor

There are a whole number of radical Islamists who have determined that the entire U.S. is a 'threat'.

The U.S. is a democracy (republic). If you don't like something, protest or vote. If you really don't like something - leave.

Speaking of which, is there anywhere I can donate money to help Rush Limbaugh buy his ticket to Costa Rica?

My dad spent a lot of time in Costa Rica for his work. Please don't ruin the lives of the good people of Costa Rica by allowing that asshat to trample around spitting and snarling.

Jebus, he'll probably just EAT Costa Rica.
