Ripples from the Big House
Poor old University of Michigan graduates. Last year they couldn't even do the commencement in the stadium (Big House) because of the construction. This year, they get the stadium, Obama and the biggest freaking thunderstorm we've had in quite a while. Attendees were supposed to be in line at 6am. At 6am, the huge, deafening storm was directly overhead. It was a very impressive storm. All of us were up watching it. Well except Hebe, she's a teenage girl, she could sleep for England.
Obama's coming to town for the U of M commencement. Planned so thoroughly, huge security, all should be like clockwork....the talk around town has been of nothing else for weeks....but they had to delay security screening because apparently the metal detectors they shipped in aren't reliable in lightning! ![]() On the plus side for many, the weather means we no longer have to battle the Obama crowds to get to kids' soccer games today -shame for us, both games were local, but most of the rest of the teams live on the other side of the stadium. Ah well, I guess the long overdue housework beckons.... beest is on his way to Indiana, where apparently the weather will be perfect all weekend. Yes, paintball again. He's the bridgekeeper this weekend. I forgot to get a pic of his costume before he left ...maybe it'll get back in one piece. But the costume is another story involving the most hideous item I have ever bought from a thrift store. So gross i not only took a pic, but I videoed it before ripping it up. I digress... pic from the twitter feed at annarbor.com
