No, it's like a Denny's or IHOP type place, but half as expensive and twice as good. And...they half a buffet. Never been there before, but ate there twice in Tallahassee. Dinner: 5$ burger with a hand-formed patty, cooked "pink" to order. A real burger, dripping with meat juice. Breakfast: a buffet with everything. Sausage gravy, steak fingers, real grits (not instant), GOOD coffee--they made us "to go" cups. 20$ for two adults, two kids.

Nope.

We don't have Denny's anymore, either, although they seem to advertise heavily in this region.

I see them when I'm traveling, so they are near, but I couldn't tell you where they are. None in the immediate vicinity.

Flint, Google Shoney's coupons.
No, wait, you don't have a printer... nevermind.

150 locations, mostly southeast, but a few in MD, WV, OH, and San Antonio, TX.

Found one in Lafayette...only 3 cars here. Saw one some miles back, closed down. They appear to be going out of business here. But we're eating at this one. Off the menu...because the buffet is closed...

The one in Tallahassee was mobbed with people...

A friend of mine used to run the kitchen at, what he said was generally recognized as, the busiest Shoney's in the U.S.

He said the waitresses didn't share tips, made minimum wage, and usually brought home about $400-$500 a week in tips alone (at Shoney's, mind you).

This was around 12-15 yrs ago, in one of the Carolinas or Virginia.

Goddang best hamburgers we've had in recent memory. Even in Lafayette, which btw sells a paper at the gas station called "Local Mug Shots" (I think this is rough neighborhood).

I miss Big Boy. We don't have those nearby, either. I can make do with Bob Evans, but that's a good distance away.

We do have a Cracker Barrel, but I don't like grits, and they insist that you have them with everything.

We had one a while back, but it went out of business. It was one of the few places I've ever gotten sick eating at. My Dad and I went for breakfast and everything was swimming in grease. I swear even the toast was greasy.
