Who's in the driving seat?

When you and your SO go out together in the car, who drives? LJ's vid of his childhood stomping ground reminded me why it's always me (severe carsickness when a passenger), unless I need a designated driver (when I don't care so much)

Me, otherwise I'll strangle her. She's a good driver but too damn slow when she gets talking. If I can't run 80 most of the way there, I don't need to go there.

Usually me. Probably because when we first were together, I had lived here for 2 years and knew my way around, and she had just moved down from the other side of the city. Plus, I owned the car then.

She puts more miles on our car than I do, since I'm at work, but we just fall into the roles of me driving when the whole family is together.

I suppose technically it would depend on which car we take... except we always take my car, because we always have the kids with us.

J knows both that I object to her driving, and that I have latent anxiety issues that come into effect when I'm passenging.

I used to drive because I have a penis... (it's true) but then I started getting drowsy in the afternoons..... now jinx drives and I take little naps.

I'm fine in the morning, and at night....but between 12pm and 6pm....I'll fall asleep and kill you all.

We go by whoever's car we take. Pete's car is the better highway vehicle so for road trips we usually take that, as a matter of course on long trips we rotate to avoid a tired driver.

When we're going somewhere together, Kitsune drives regardless of which car we take. When we first met, I didn't have my driver's license, so he was the driver by default and it's stuck that way. I take shifts on road trips, but it makes me feel a little anxious because I know he's the more experienced driver and I feel like I don't know what I'm doing.

I drive unless I've had a drinky or want a nappy.

Husband, unless we are taking shifts on a long trip. He can't stand being the passenger unless he is sleeping.

Solely for the amusement of last nite's chatters, I managed to get myself pulled over today, ending a nearly 20 year streak. I completely blew a stop sign leaving Victory Brewing Co. I then apologized a lot, batted my eyelashes, and was issued a warning.
