Relax that jaw!

Just a reminder to unclench your teeth and relax your cheeks once in a while.

It's a fantastic release of tension if you just exhale out while relaxing your cheeks. Try it! Something I learned in EST training, amazingly enough.

It's amazing how much tension we hold in our cheeks and jaws, as well as the neck and shoulders. Here's a great, if a bit technical, series of neck and shoulder stretches:

Well, I thought about it because I often wake up in the morning with my jaw clenched. Not good for incipient TMJ or whatever that is.

no. not good for a recipient BJ either.

Now, before yet another thread drifts in that direction, if you could occasionally remind me not to lean on one elbow or tuck one leg under me or put one foot on the other knee, my shoulders and knees might also have a chance.....

...damn already clenching that jaw again -what is with that today?

I don't think I ever really relax my jaw. I grind my teeth at night. Heck I start doing it before I'm even completely asleep.

It actually hurts getting my teeth worked on because I'm not used to having my mouth unclenched.

I'm a leg-tucker too.

No wonder I hurt all over!

I wish pot was legal. There's no clenching when stoned.

If you didn't grind your teeth, just think how long they would be by now.

I wouldn't gopher that!

You remind me of my brother's hamster, Hammy (we were so clever) who wasn't chewing his chew bars and had one tooth that was like two inches long. We took the disposable pet to the vet, and they cut the tooth. Poor Hammy.

I don't (AFAIK) clench or grind, but I read in bed with my head hanging over the edge of the bed, and the book on a crate beside the bed. That position presses my jaw closed, which can't be great for my teeth.
