bacon sundae...

At Burger King.

Anyone brave enough to try it?

I think we've gone too far.

Sounded vile, then I went googled it and actually, it looks quite nice.

It isn't, as I thought bacony ice cream. It's a vanilla icecream with fudge, caramel etc and there are some crumbly bits of bacon sprinkled on top. I'd imagine the little hit of salt amidst the sweet would really work.

No different than how freaking awesome fresh doughnuts and draft beer are at Smokey Bones.

I won't get one but only because it seems rather predictable.

I mean, I did.

It was delicious. It suffered a tiny bit cosmetically from the five minute drive home from Burger King, but it was delicious anyhow.

I've not had the BK variant, but Denny's did have a "Baconalia" promotion a while back in which they had baconified everything, and one offering was a bacon sundae with maple syrup on top. There was no way I was leaving without trying it.

Trip report: It was really, really good - bacon and vanilla ice cream go together frighteningly well. The bacon pieces were little savoury salt-bombs amidst cold, sweet ice cream. The maple syrup was a masterstroke. Totally worth trying. The BK one looks like it's just a hot fudge sundae with bacon added, but hell, that sounds good too. Bacon and chocolate is also a surprisingly good combination.
