Derek (tv show)
Anybody watching this? It caused a bit of a stir in the uk and divided opinion quite a bit. I liked the bits I saw but wasn't really drawn into the show itself. Now the second series is airing and it's got me into it. Not sure if Netflix have already aired this current series. They've got the first.
Set in a care home. There's a gentleness to it that I like. And it seems to flip effortlessly between humour and emotional tugs. Ricky Gervais as Derek:

We watched maybe 3 episodes, but it went a little slow for us. (Yeah yeah, slow joke, irony, etc.) I suppose I might give it another try in the future, when I run out of things to watch at some point. I did appreciate the acting job done by Ricky Gervais, since I'd never seen him play anything except the raucous ass, but the storyline just wasn't going anywhere for us.
