Why Sharpton will never be President

Two words: "Tawana Brawley".

I'm familiar with the whole thing, but I really really really dig this:

Quote:
Democratic hopeful Al Sharpton refused to apologize for accusing a prosecutor of rape in the 1980s case of Tawana Brawley, a New York state teen whose claims of kidnapping and abuse were found to be a hoax by state investigators. He said he still believes her.

“I would apologize if I was wrong,” he said.
Ah, Al. You're funny. You fucking retard.

I wouldn't vote for him because of his failure to use the subjunctive.

Meanwhile, 99% of the electorate would vote against a candidate just because he knew the word "subjunctive." Nope, we just can't have no high-falutin' educated folk elected to be in charge of this great country.

Sharpton may have entertained notions of being President for all of three seconds after he announced his candidacy. After they passed, he went back to the primary plan - power broker. When Sharpton drops out, whomever he picks to endorse will virtually lock down the black vote. That's why he's rarely - if ever - been criticized or targeted in the debates on a stance over anything.

If he was a serious contender, someone would bring up Brawley, as you pointed out Dave. Since he's not, he's just someone to cater to.
