Why Sharpton will never be President
Two words: "Tawana Brawley".
I'm familiar with the whole thing, but I really really really dig this: Quote:

Sharpton may have entertained notions of being President for all of three seconds after he announced his candidacy. After they passed, he went back to the primary plan - power broker. When Sharpton drops out, whomever he picks to endorse will virtually lock down the black vote. That's why he's rarely - if ever - been criticized or targeted in the debates on a stance over anything.
If he was a serious contender, someone would bring up Brawley, as you pointed out Dave. Since he's not, he's just someone to cater to.
