Relationships forum

Now that we've expanded with the Parenting section, consider a Relationships section to discuss all things relationship-related. Friendship, love, sex, romance, asshat bosses, the Walmart clerk who annoys you, the sister who wants you at the wedding but not your significant other.

We had one on the Cellar at one point, and it was pretty well used.

We are, in fact, forum-happy at this point but this topic is broad and IMO important and may draw people out more.

People should just let situations happen, meaning stop trying to look so hard for love. Just a thought to start things off.

i'm down with a relationships forum. i can think of several participants who might be able to use a little advice or support. in fact, i have a couple ideas for threads that would go nicely in it.

This would probably be a good idea, especially considering the cheating thread in Home Base.

We've had more than a few discussions that either started with or turned to relationship issues.

I'll add my "aye" vote.

Just a thought here:

It is kind of a neat idea to specify forums for stuff, and I think it promotes a sense of organization, but at some point we might have a category for most things we like to talk about on the cellar individually, and at that point, if someone wants to talk about something different, will they start a new forum or just decide that the topic doesn't fit in the existing forums and not post it? I like the semi-free-form way in which the cellar is organized right now.

No need. A relationship Q can go into an existing thread and thread propogation needs to be Nipped in the Bud!

I think we're getting a little over-forumed. I like it when threads spontaneously fly down different paths. I'd hate to see us break off a conversation and move it whenever it touches a different topic.

That said, I have a suggestion for the think hole: get to know the cellar a bit. Use your space for things that are important to you that don't already have a sensible home somewhere else. Ex: the book threads have been going under entertainment since day one, you might want to look through them. It kind of breaks the flow when we move topics out of forum. This is just me being a prick but if you can't speak your mind on the cellar, where can you?

So far nothing that has been posted on the Think Hole could not have been a thread elsewhere.

correction. so far nothing has been posted in the think hole that is NOT ALREADY a thread elsewhere.

sorry, sidhe, i think that there is some good stuff in there, but..... maybe you should start some threads that have a more unique quality. how about telling us about yourself for starters?
