Fire it up!

We had some major thunderstorms move through the area toninght, and I wanted to test the limits of my slow-ass digital camera. Not slow for exposure (which would be a good thing), but slow loading memory. After about 100 tries I managed to obtain this shot freehand:

Very cool! Did ya live through it?

I still want to get a telescope with a camera adaptor, only problem I'm usually in bed by dark, and when I'm not it's like 2 degrees outside.

Cool lightning pictures from Germany. From the height of the camera, it looks like these were taken from a car. I hope so. The photographer appears to be the highest thing around. Would make a perfect lightning rod. At least in a car, the photographer would be safe from lightning.

NBN: excellent shot for freehand!!! That the lightening strike came out relatively clear while everything else is blurred...I love it! Also cool that on the left, there are some stray clouds passing by.

Great shot!

One of these days I hope to get a nice wide shot of the stuff in Tampa that spiders from one horizon to the other. For now, all I have is the stuff that didn't escape my shutter. (aka - the pathetic strikes)
