This is just another example of our (ohio) Nazi fucking government interfering where they have no expertise---namely addiction. In the not too distant past gov't. regulations of liquor (and those who imbibe) resulted in nothing less than organized crime--people ALWAYS FIND A WAY to misbehave! In Ohio (land of the never-free) if you are convicted of DUI you must sport a screamin' yellow license plate with "DUI" written in RED on the plate. What fucking arrogance!!!! What if I am an innocent person who MUST drive that car due to economical reasons?? Yeah, no one ever thought of the stay-at-home, one-car family. That doesn't exsist in Ohio (HA!)

PS--don't ever tell your Doc anything you don't want your employer to know, coz, as an ex-Occupational Health RN, I can testify (tesitify, sister!) that NOTHING you say is sacred in the land of lawsuits. My son wants to be a lawyer and I am heartbroken. I am doing everything in my power to persuade him otherwise--and, no, he can't go into medicine, either. Both are soul-killing.

I know a lot of guys that go home from work, drink a six pack or more, go to bed and get up and go to work. I'd like to know how that Dr determined this guys drinking became a driving impairment. And of course he's guilty until proven innocent so no wonder the lawyer is happy with the ruling. Scumbags.
And don't start in about drunk drivers, this has nothing to do with that.

I worked in a steel-mill for four years as a nurse. There was more than a zero-tolerance for anything even smelling/looking like beer or anything else (even Rx medication. I do not wish to engage in a debate on that)-- Men came in to be drug/etoh tested for the most incredible things--one truck driver was drug tested because his truck leaked oil! I drug tested people who's only "crime" was being present when their equipment fucked up. No human error identified! These men and women were so afraid of looking sideways that I began to see the drug testing policy for what it truly was---a tool of The Man. And no, I am not being sarcastic.

Well, if they can't convince people that self-medication is bad for the soul they'll settle for making them fear for their lives.
Social Engineering at its finest.
