Racially motivated pet murder

From Fox News:

Quote:
Phoenix police are investigating a startling animal-cruelty case in which a 6-month-old Chihuahua was found cut in half.

The distraught Medina family had to remove photos of their dog "Taco" from the walls of their Phoenix home after the dog's owner, Humberto Medina, made the gruesome discovery.

Medina said the photos are too painful to look at because his last memory of Taco was of the pet torn in two pieces in their backyard.

Medina believes the crime was racially motivated.

"I don't understand why they did (this)," Humberto Medina told MyFOXPhoenix.com. "He was just a little dog. He cannot hurt anybody."

Detective Stacie Derge said the Phoenix Police Department does not have any suspects for the crime.

She did not have further details to release.

Anyone with information is asked to call 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
racially motivated or just retaliation for this soon to be released assault upon our senses P.O.S.?

I'll tell you what happened. All the clues are there. Little dog, left alone outside... what does he do? He yip-yaps his damn head off until someone either lets him back in the house or cuts him in half. They probably tried yelling at him and throwing stuff at him, before they finally stuck the tree-saw over the fence. And I'll bet they probably didn't even mean to cut him completely in half.

But seriously, wasn't he probably picked up and half-devoured by a big predator bird or something? Or a coyote?

no, experience and instinct tell me that Mr Medina probably left Taco out all the time and good ol' Taco annoyed the crap out of the neighbors until someone cut the little yapper in half. Or Mr Medina owes someone some money and was sent a message to be more forthcoming with repayment.

the whole racially motivated deal is BS. you can't swing half a chihuahua by the tail in phoenix without hitting 8 mexicans and 32 chihuahuas. they give them away on street corners for crying out loud. (the ratdogs, not the mexicans. you have to pay for them) for someone to pick this chihuahua and kill it as a racial message would be pretty bizarre.

Nah, we don't let mexicans in the neighborhood. just kidding, of course. they come during daylight hours by permit to do our lawns.

ok, i better stop that before someone thinks I'm seriously anti-mexican. my neighbor has 4 boxers, 2 chihuahuas, and a pitbull. and a freaking cockatu. hate that thing. anyway, no problem with the dogs. (or the fact that he's mexican ) the guy behind me though has a beagle. more precisely, his kids who visit once a month have a beagle that he keeps. outside. too much. i have resorted to shooting the little bastard with an airsoft gun when it howls at me from the top of the kids' swingset. i never thought about cutting it in half. until just now.

If they didn't want it eaten, why did they name it Taco?

Heck! ALL my neighbors are Mexicans. All my in-laws too. More than one rat dog in the family, yet although I hate little ankle-biters, I can't see killing one, in any manner, just because they bark. All dogs (but one) do. Especially if they are cut off from their "pack" (read: the people). Our Shih-Tzu will go insane if we leave it alone for more than an hour. They're people dogs. Chihuahuas are also people dogs; they have a strong sense of the pack.

I don't believe in the term "hate crime". Killing a pet is animal cruelty, which may be either a misdemeanor or felony depending on the local laws. It should be investigated and prosecuted as such.

That said, my dogs spend a great deal of time outdoors and anyone harming any of them will be hunted down and butt-raped prior to being mercy-killed.

You undoubtably have more dog experience than me, but my experience is completely the opposite. I've only known one dog that was a barker. Oh - lie. There's one across the road from here that goes off at about midday and carries on intermittently til about four. Drives me crazy, but apparantly no-one even noticed it til I started pointing it out.

Then again it's not common to keep dogs outside in England (smaller yards probably). That might be the difference.

We moved house largely because of a howling dog.

Killing it would have saved us a lot of money.
