After Schaivo - The Pope!
The Pope is on a feeding tube. Just wait for the Cardinals start to argue over the removal of the feeding tube. This could be more fun that The Surreal Life.
Cardinal 1: The pontiff told me in private he doesn't want a feeding tube to stay alive. Cardinal 2 (with Bill O'Reilly in tow): Everyone would obviously want to live, and I heard him say "I vant"... clearly that was the beginning of a statement meaning that he wants to live. Cardinal 1: The Pope wants to die in a dignified manner. Pope: Hey, I'm still alive here Cardinals1and2 and O'Reilly: Shut Up, You! we're holding a very serious debate over your wishes... Pope: oh fuck it, get me a gun.

I hope we aren't confusing intraveneous tubes with feeding tubes.

Usually PEG tubes are considered "ordinary care" and not "life support".
Naso-gastric feedings are a step below the PEG on the care scale, I believe. (We avoid patients with need for either, so I'm not entirely sure about this. As I like to point out to ER physicians I'm about to rip a new one for trying to medically clear a medically-unstable patient, "well, you're the doctor ... I learned all my medicine from watching ER. But before I get our doctor ... his crit's 13. What's he bleeding into? If you can't answer that question, you're not medically clearing this patient."

Clearly, we need to feed Terri Schiavo to the Pope, or vice versa.
