scan the main page 20 times a day looking for something interesting, unique and novel (me)

chastising self for not being able to provide the interesting, unique and novel (me of course)

reading the occasional gem (me)

learning about fellow peoples (me)

@ pie and classic...I should have said 'explore ideas with other people' which would be more inline with what you said and which I agree with too.
