Curt Weldon & Tom DeLay

Somebody left a message on my answering machine today.

They described several Congressional actions, of dubious merit, that my home boy Curt Weldon and "America's congressman", Tom Delay, had worked closely together on.

They gave a phone number, purported to be Weldon's, and suggested calling Curt and asking him to explain.

Ah, I love the smell of elections in the morning.

I take it he gets most of his campaign money from the fireman's local? He doesn't seem that appealing to me just by looking at his web page, but calls like that would tend to make me vote for him just out of spite. Hell, one sleeze is as good as another!

He's a shoo in, Mari, as are any Repub-lick-cans in this district. He did get a lot of support from firemen but the bulk of his money?.....read on...

A senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, Weldon served six years as the Chairman of the Military Research and Development Subcommittee, overseeing the development and testing of key military systems, weapons programs, and technologies that fulfill military needs. Weldon has used that position to become the leading House supporter of a national missile defense to protect America's families and communities. Weldon now serves as the Vice Chairman of the full Committee as well as Chairman of the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee. His role will ensure that our service men and women are adequately prepared for duty in the high-tech world of the 21st century.
Now we're talking money, BIG money, enough to set his daughter up with some very lucrative deals in Russia.

He's also known for supporting Able Danger and several other "alternate" theories on terrorism.

I have no idea whether he's doing good work on that front or whether he's just being a tool.
