Homesquirrel needs a laptop

Mrs. Nutkin needs a laptop for emailing, minimal image storing, writing, and quickbooks.

She is a klutz and doesn't usually stop to think that over ripe pears and electronics equipments shouldn't share the same pocket of her knapsack.

Any recommendations on what type of laptop might be best for her? I'm told Lenovo are fairly indestructible.

I do not have a Acer laptop but I sure do love my Acer mini desktop.

This sounds like a job for Toughbook:

(There's a youtube link, but I can't seem to see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N53xYt_QXO4&NR=1)

As above, I'd go for the Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 Performance Model! (The most recent version - more durable than ever!)

It may cost a pretty penny... but you could store it in a bag made of over-ripe pears, and all that would change, would be that it is now a pear-smelling, but still fully-functional laptop!

What did you do different (differently?)? I wrapped mine in those YouTube tags.

I personally would lean toward Lenovo or Acer. But any of them can make a lemon on any given day, and in these days of microscopic profit margins on computers, nobody has really great customer service. YMMV.

We just got this one for Mrs. Dallas about a month ago, and she's very happy with it.

Don't bother getting a super-expensive laptop that's designed not to break. Just get a cheap Dell with their "Accidental Damage" warranty. If it breaks for any reason, they will send a tech out to you to replace/repair as needed, usually within a day or two.

If you're interested in the one I posted, Newegg has marked it down to $399.99 for their Memorial Day sale. I swear I'm not an employee or shill for either Newegg or Lenovo, but it caught my eye since it was the same one we had bought. (Of course lots of other places will be running sales this weekend too, not to mention graduation/father's day promotions.)
