NOt sure how to take this one -

First emotion is one of sadness followed by anger, but then a feeling of hypocrisy hits as I think of my turkey roast on Sunday....

Not in the story is the fact that the parent penguins are totally stressed by the episode and are not eating as a result....

We here in the Midwest are eagerly watching to see how much of a penalty will be meted out to the operator of this "facility". She'd better do some time.

I should think Penguins lose chicks all the time. I wonder if these pampered, Zoo living Penguins have become citified, sissyfied, metrosexuals?

Not at all. In the real world, penguins live on the edge of survival every minute. They hang out, and on, in the harshest damn places on Earth. I doubt if they have much time to be pining for lost chick or there would be a whole lot pining penguins out there, as the mortality rate is pretty high.
They're lucky there's no Antartic Polar Bears.
