Is it possible to find a better drink than G&T on a hot day when you've got nothing much better to do than sit and sip? The only problem is, if you have too many, they interfere with sleeping (in my experience), so moderation is the key ingredient. |

I'd have to say yes, as nothing compares with a really cold beer on a really hot day.

It's 0234 hrs here. I work nights so I tend to have the place to myself right about now.

I'm quite used to it actually (I wake up in what is our early afternoon, so I do occasionally interact with people who walk on the Dayside).

G&T are pretty damn sweet. Of course, I can't drink them. At least, the Universe highly, highly suggests that I should not. What is to-die for yummy, though, is a mojito. OMG! So good, I'd drink the virgin version of them! (Virgin Version would be a good name for a band) |

I like what Elvis Costello said: on his first tour of the US he tried to cause a shortage of G&T by drinking them all.

Gin was the first hard liquor I was ever able to drink that did not result in my being laid out flat on my back on the floor, declaring my hatred for everyone and everything. I found loooove with gin. But I have to admit these days a good single malt scotch with a refreshing soda back is sometimes even better than a G&T |

First choice~ Potato Vodka - must be kept in freezer and served in chilled glass. Phenominal... but I would never turn down a good G&T. Brianna - can you give the proportions for the mojitos? that sounds GOOD!

This is the one I make: Mojitos..... 3 fresh mint sprigs 2 oz simple sugar syrup 3 tbsp fresh lime juice 1 1/2 oz light rum club soda In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar syrup and lime juice and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum and mix. Top off with *chilled* club soda (or seltzer). Add a lime slice and the remaining mint, and serve. Garnish with a stick of sugar cane.
