hm

my two cats are strictly indoor cats, all the time. They've been outside, by accident, only a couple times in their lives. their lifetime kill count is zero between them.

No they're not new, but ever since those damn Egyptians elevated them to worship worthy, they've been impossible. I'd bet most cats living in urban environments never go outside to affect the ecosystem. In the burbs they do, and rural areas where there's a big feral population, most definitely.
But at least they don't fly over and poop on me.

Meh. Dizcat wanted and needed to be with me from about a month after we met.
(trying to squeeze out Dylan, who took to me immediately).

I imagine his thought process as:
The warmth of another cat? I'll get back to you on that.
Storage heater? Maybe later.
Snuggling under duvet with the Food Lady? Yeah, okay.
It's too GD hot to do this? NO. It's never too hot to press my furry body up against the pinky hairless thing that cares for me.

It's not "romantic" love. but catskins are great bed companions,
And they don't say anything if you fart...
