Drunken Dragon Dog Woes

My company had a potluck today and I made 3 1/2 pounds of the drunken dragon dogs to try something different. Unfortunately, I woke up last night not feeling very well and I'm going to the doctors today. It's probably just sinus issues, but when you wake up feeling like you're choking, it's a good idea to get it checked out.

By the time I called around, everyone who works at my company who lives near me had already left.

I'm not in a partying mood, so what do I do with 3 1/2 pounds of hot dogs in sauce? I also used all beef Nathans and Hebrew Nationals, not to mention the Jack Daniels black label, which I have never bought before in my life, so I've invested some money into this.

Does this stuff freeze well?

Are you asking us how to preserve the stuff that made you sick?

Actually, I only tasted one piece. I think I have a sinus infection and a nasal drip that let me sleep for about 3 hours last night.

I used Wolf's recipe and top shelf ingredients, so I have complete confidence here.

BTW, I do wash my hands before handling food.

They should freeze. I've never had to, but I don't see a problem with it.

A shot of Jack in the Black with a quarter teaspoon of the hot sauce in it should take care of the sinus infection.

I've successfully frozen sausage casserole before - it can't be all that different (apart from sounding much, much better!)

I actually heated up about 5 pieces to try in the microwave. I'm glad I covered it with a cloth because it started sputtering. I zapped it too long (3 minutes) and its turned into a sticky coating with holes where the popping occurred.

The only reason I can think of is the hot sauce I used is cane vinegar with tiny pieces of hot peppers.

It tasted good though. Sitting in the fridge overnight has smoothed out the 'medicine' flavor my wife complained about.

Still, I'm going to have to reheat it on the stove from now on.

Definitely microwave covered.

If you have to reheat them in a party setting (I often transport and rewarm) your best bet is to do so at 60-70% power for bursts of no more than 3 minutes (5 minutes on a higher power nuker), and stir between each zap.
