Jesus Christ! Minchin!

I just couldn't find an appropriate thread, so forgive me.

Tim Minchin is singing Judas in an arena tour of Jesus Christ, Superstar.
I like him as a performance artist, but I admit I didn't know he had the range for Judas. He must have as Webber is behind it.

I grew up with the album verson (Murray Head) and I had trouble remembering Jesus was the good guy because Judas had such great lines. Actually, Pilate did too. Awww, I 'm just a sucker for Tim Rice's lyrics. Sir Tim Rice, sorry. Not Lord. Unlike Andrew.

I have nothing specifically against Nicole Scherzinger as Mary Magdalene.
But she's no Yvonne Elliman.
Oh, no. It turns out I do have something against her after all.
It's not JAY Ho.
It's JAI Ho.
But that's as unfair as blaming Kate Capshaw for the translation of Anything Goes.

I love Tim Minchin. About 6 years ago I saw him as the last act in a night of stand up comedy, in a small theatre in Melbourne. He was still pretty unknown. He did Canvas Bags, and it was the rendition I've seen him do. I laughed so hard that I fell off my seat and got stuck for a little while down there with the chocolate wrappers. It was brilliant.

I only saw him for the first time on Californication. Ironically, he plays Christ in a dream sequence.

This is the 'Pope Song'. His take on the child sex scandal.
