There was a fire in a school in Kenya, killing something like 50. In this picture you can see the charred remains of some of the victims. Yes, you have to look closely... I couldn't see them at first either... but then...

That's why I pray that when i go, it's not by burning or drowning. Those are the two worst ways I can imagine to die.

Worst way to die

Burning and drowning would suck, but I have to say the worst way to die is this medieval torture method that I read about not too long ago. Your good friend in the black mask starves a few rats for a while, then puts them in an iron pot on your chest. Proceeding, he lights a fire on the pot, and the rats bore through your stomach. All in all, a good way to spend a Saturday evening.

and I'm in the bag

If you mean ever, then yeah. But I don't think I'll encounter a guy in a black mask with starving rats on the Blvd. of the Allies.

...then again...

Re: 3/27: Charred remains

Recently there was a schoool explosion in a remote provience of mainland China. Unconfirmed reports said school kids assembled explosives. Quickly this report was denied and a top Chinese governement official confirmed that the 'explosives assembly' report was incorrect.

However you probably did not hear the rest of the story. That same top official also was suspicious. He sent spies in the Provience and discovered, indeed, that the school was an explosive factory. The coverup was exposed but 'Deep Throat' has not yet identified the corrupt local leadership.

These things are not accidents. Accidents almost never happen. The question in the above paragraph - the first question that should be on your mind before you even have an emotional reaction - who is responsible for this mass murder.

The events in China are more indicative of what is happening in that country. We tend to think of mainland China as a monolithic dictatorship running their people into the ground. In reality, even in mainland China are little people simply striving to advance their fellow mankind. Corruption is rampant. That does not mean that corruption is everywhere. Who killed those above school children? 85% of all problems are directly traceable to top management.

I'd saying drawing and quartering would have to suck as well...

I hate fire, but I might be able to deal with drowning. It would depend...

Damnit if I can't remember that Robert Frost poem now...

Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Much obliged Griff...I haven't seen it in about 5 or 6 years now...good ol' Poetic Interpretation class (where I was convincingly able to demonstrate that Danzig's "Cantspeak" made for a good poem, but U2's "Lemon" did not).
