Kayak trips

Here is a pic from upstream of Hell's Gate on the mighty Fraser River... it was August last year and there wasn't much water in the rivers in Yukon so we went where water was... beautiful scenery and NOBODY else on the river.

And here is a pic of a cremation we witnessed on a paddling trip in Nepal... This Hindu temple is on the banks of a small river, and all the remains once burned are thrown into the river. No, we did not paddle this one! Note the wife to the right of the deceased, wailing away... it is also customary to hire wailers as it's believed that the wailing scares away the evil spirits. It's a shocking event to see, but one that is engrained in their culture.
