Murtha
The blue collar, ex-marine, pentagon supporting, dear hunting democrat takes on the Republican house. Cool. He dared to present a plan. His plan. His take on what's going on. Agree or not, at least it offers some start of discussion, some debate. not just "Stay the course." (trademarks pending)
The crass Republican resolution stunt didnt embarass the Democrats, but gave accountability a forum. That shrill no-name Ohio congress woman got the slap down in her red white and blue jump suit. I liked the ruckus. There's Cheney in his tux trashing the heartfelt combat vet. Cheney can't apprear on network talkshows lest he be asked a legally sensitive questions, put on the spot. He can only appear at funders functions. Notice how Bush had to step, restep lightly in his criticism. We'll see if Rove's Swift Boat strategies get lasered on Murtha, after all, or if the Bush Admin starts to actually communicate with clarity to the American people about issues of life, death, human rights and democracy. We can hope. thanks Murtha. |
