Ok, KinkyVixin's thread about the bad blind date got me thinking. Here is my situation:
I am currently looking for a job for when my current assignment ends. I am using both my own searching and two consulting companies that both know about each other. M consulting company got me the position that I am in now and are looking into (I am hoping) other ones for me including one I am really excited about. T consulting company has been in contact with me through the entire assignment. T just emailed me yesterday about a job that interviews next week and starts after the first of the year. First description of the job is something that I DO not want and email T my concerns. He comes back with a different description and says that this is really what it is. I call him to get some more information, but something just isn't sitting right. I am thinking it is because the first description and the second are completely different from each other. He knows I am a little wary and I ask "If I go on the interview and decide afterwards that it isn't something I want, is that ok?" Basically he says it isn't a problem, but in that way that says that it is a problem and I feel guilty even thinking about it. My gut says just say no, but my mind says it is a job, can't hurt. Then my mind says, but what if I get the job I really want, but I have interviewed and feel bad about saying no. At this point, I am going to go with my gut and say no to the interview. But I am curious, what would you do? |
